The EMDR Disaster Network is devoted to helping first responders and healthcare workers who have been directly impacted by a natural and man-made disaster. We invite experienced EMDR trauma therapists to join us in caring for these dedicated and courageous people. EMDR trauma therapists know first hand how EMDR therapy can help heal those affected by acute trauma. Together with many therapist colleagues, we have helped organize the EMDR Disaster Network, a community of EMDR trauma therapists committed to helping people affected by the unexpected. Several hundred therapists have joined the Network to date and we expect many more will do so as word gets out.
If you are an emergency responder or healthcare worker currently experiencing a high level of distress related to a disaster situation we encourage you to consult now with a therapist on this registry. EMDR treatment can relieve your distress rapidly so that you can focus on your loved ones and the work that is important to you.
All therapists who join the Network have agreed to significantly reduce their fees and to expedite the scheduling of services, if at all possible, to provide time-limited EMDR therapy for disaster victims.
Some of the listed therapists also belong to local crisis response teams or networks. We list team contact information on the Regional Networks page on this website.
Please consider spreading the word to colleagues, friends, family, organizations and agencies that respond to local disasters so that those in need will have ready access to skilled care.
